There is one thing that I give thanks to everyday and that is my family. With a little one on the way, I am grateful for a supportive and loving bunch of people. I am very fortunate to have family members that love to laugh and have a good time. This past week was the best example of how life is during the July 4th holiday. Before the big day of July 4th, we had plenty of prep work to do for the beach. One of the fondest memories is eating snacks siting in the sand on the beach after playing hard in the waves. With me being an organizer, we made our trip to the grocery store and stored up on all kinds of goodies including watermelon and boiled peanuts. My family has grown up eating watermelon and boiled peanuts on the beach so this was a normal snack for all of us. My husband does a great job boiling and salting the peanuts perfectly to taste!
July 4th came and even though the weather was fickle we enjoyed the day. We went to DeBordieu Beach in Georgetown, SC and it was beautiful. The water was clear all week and weekend! However, at one point and time, we were all huddled under the tent dogging the rain storms that came and went multiple times throughout half of the day on the fourth. DeBordieu is such a great place that seems like it is a different world inside the gates. People drive around on golf carts and capture beautiful scenic views of marsh, beach and abundant wildlife.
My cousin Ayden loves to surf and she caught a few good waves. She even tried to teach another little cousin how to surf as well. They were both exhausted by days end but non the less they had fun! With catching waves, comes being hungry. We tried the new restaurant in Pawleys Island,
J Peters Grill & Bar. It was delicious! They have great salads and amazing specials during Happy Hour. I would highly recommend trying them whether you are on vacation or looking at homes to purchase with me in the area! The beach is truly a magical place to visit or live and even more magical with family. I love you all that came to spend time with Brian and I. I hope everyone enjoyed this year's 4th of July and made lasting memories to remember forever.
